Heineken Experience
The Heineken Experience is a brand experience within Heineken’s oldest brewery in Amsterdam. The Heineken Experience is a former brewery turned interactive museum that offers an immersive journey through the history and brewing process of Heineken beer. It offers four floors of multimedia exibits, historical brewing artefacts, and a tasting bar.
Leidse Square (Leidseplein)
Every city has a square where everyone meets. In Amsterdam, it’s the Leidseplein.
Bars, coffee shops and clubs- the perfect place to start the night. The atmosphere is really unique, especially in spring and summer. The perfect location, between the main station and the museum district, draws you directly over to the Leidseplein.
Leidseplein Restaurants
In the streets surrounding Leidseplein, restaurants and bars serving food account for almost every building. Korte Leidsedwarsstraat and the intersecting streets are crammed with Chinese, Italian and Argentinian restaurants, most of which offer great deals due to intense competition. There are also a number of higher end restaurants nearby, with Café Americain in the Eden Amsterdam American Hotel being a popular choice, particularly for Jazz Brunch on Sunday afternoons.

Ask any Amsterdammer where to try the best Dutch street snack food, and they’ll direct you to Albert Cuypmarkt. Crowds queue at the stands serving up warm, fresh stroopwafels, poffertjes (mini-pancakes) and friet (chips), amid a cacophany of merchants loudly touting their cheeses, fruit and veg, herbs, spices, clothes and flowers.
